Presser Bar

Your sewing machine is a complicated machine, and the manual that came with it will have a lot of words you’ve never heard before. We are among the best pin shaft manufacturers in the business.

Introduction:

This article will tell you everything you need to know about your sewing machine’s presser bar, including why it’s there, how the presser bar lifter works, and a lot more.

Check out the guide I wrote about the different parts of a sewing machine if you want to learn more about it. I give an overview of each part and explain what it does.

This short guide is all about the presser bar on a sewing machine. You can get good quality presser bar sewing machines online from our website.

What is a Sewing Machine’s Presser Bar:

The presser foot is attached to the bottom of the presser bar, which is a vertical metal shaft. When you look at your sewing machine from the front, it is behind the needle shaft.

Without the presser bar, you couldn’t keep the presser foot in place, and when you tried to sew, the thread would get all tangled up.

How does the Presser Bar Work:

The main job of the presser bar is to put pressure on the feed dog so that the fabric we put between the feed dog and the presser foot doesn’t move.

It is also connected to the presser bar lever, which is sometimes called a presser foot lifter, and is used to raise and lower the presser feet as we sew.

Sewing Machine Mechanism:

The presser foot lifter is in the back of the sewing machine. To reach it, we usually put our hands under the sewing machine’s arm and slightly to the left.

When you look at the back of the presser bar on the Singer 66, you can see that the presser foot of the sewing machine is touching the feed dog under the presser foot. This is because the presser bar is now down.
